A white blood cell (Chris Rock) and a stuck-up cold pill (David Hyde Pierce) fend off a deadly 24-hour virus (Laurence Fishburne) inside Bill Murray's rundown body. Seriously.
OSMOSIS JONES features live action bookends, directed by the Farrelly Brothers (Something About Mary, Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin). The body of the film (that is: the animated part INSIDE the body) was directed by myself, together with Tom Sito.
I spearheaded the initial development of the film with a small team at Warner Bros. Feature Animation, in conjunction with writer Marc Hyman and producer Zak Penn.
OSMOSIS is a refreshingly unapologetic cartoon, made at a time when animation was getting more and more self-serious and realistic.
The press unanimously praised the inventiveness of the animation.
Released in 2001, it went on to become a Health Class staple in the US.
Don't eat off the ground kids!
