Emmy Buckingham Parker was last seen boarding the Orient Express in Venice in October 1928, days after her much older husband, German oil tycoon Felix von Armstadt, was brutally murdered in the shadow of the Great Pyramid of Giza. A heated crime of passion in a marriage gone cold? A business deal run awry?  Politics as usual?
The circumstances of Emmy's sudden disappearance remain a mystery to this day.
Breaking the rules of story telling without warning T.R.A.N.S.I.T presents a sweeping epic in seven snapshots and invites its audience to get in the writer's seat and connect the dots.
Under the incredible art direction of Gill Bradley each chapter got a distinct, stylish Art Deco treatment. Old school in-camera trickery: no computer was harmed in the making of this film.
Produced by the Illuminated Film Company and Picture START, T.R.A.N.S.I.T was very well received internationally, shortlisted for the Oscar and nominated for the BAFTA and Golden Cartoon. The LA Film Critics Association awarded it Best Animated Short of 1997.  "Film making that rises above the technique" CUTS magazine wrote. In his textbook FILM An Introduction (Bedford/St Martins 2009) William H. Phillips dissects the film extensively: "T.R.A.N.S.I.T exemplifies how complex, sophisticated, subtle, and engaging a short animated film can be."
